​​​​​​​​​​Master’s Program in Cybercrime and Digital Forensics

Cybercrime is on the rise, its patterns and methods are multiplying, and consequently, accumulated losses are growing. This has coincided with the increased technological development and the wide-scale digital transformation accompanied by an increase in the number of users of internet and other means of technology. Accordingly, and driven by NAUSS mission being an Arab regional organization concerned with the development, qualification, and enhancement of the skills of personnel specialized in the fields of security sciences, this program has been developed. This program will serve to develop and build capacities of specialists in the fields related to cybercrime and digital forensics, and to provide them with advanced skills to detect different forms and classifications of digital evidence. In addition, it will effectively assist specialists to seize, analyze, and investigate digital evidence and will enable them to develop and apply a methodological process to investigate violations of cybersecurity and detect digital evidence. The program offers two modern specializations where applicants may choose either: Mobile Device Forensics, and Network Forensics which includes emerging technologies, smart cities, and industrial control systems.



1 Special Admission Requirements:

  • Holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Obtaining a minimum score of 5.0 in the IELTS language test or its equivalent in standard English language tests.
  • Successful completion of a personal interview.

Graduation Requirements

Successfully completing the required program hours with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 out of 5.00 within the specified timeframe necessary to fulfill the requirements for obtaining the academic degree.

2 Program Objectives:

  • Digital forensics and mobile device forensics.
  • Mitigating, combating, and investigating cybercrime by enhancing knowledge and skills in cyber incident response.
  • Preparing qualified experts and personnel capable of contributing to achieving security, justice, and cybersecurity.

3 Expected Learning Outcomes:

  • Conducting specialized scientific research in advanced cybercrime investigation and innovative projects to develop products and services in digital forensics and providing expert consultations in this field.
  • Drawing a comparison between stages of penal procedures.
  • Applying advanced and diverse technical skills in digital forensics and utilizing critical thinking methods to solve complex cybercrime cases.

Forensic sciences are one of the most important applied forensic sciences that the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences has given attention to since its inception. This is because they are the most important tool in criminal investigation and the administration of justice. The university began with the name "Forensic Laboratories", and then the College of Forensic Sciences. Recently, and in line with the university's strategy and ongoing development projects, these sciences have been placed under the umbrella of the College of Criminal Justice in an independent department that seeks to provide outstanding academic programs in the Diploma, Master's, and Doctorate levels in various specializations of forensic sciences. This is aimed at professionally and academically qualifying experts and workers in the criminal field in a way that enhances their scientific and practical capabilities.
